Here’s a teaser from the article over on Laptop Magazine website:
“Negroponte didn’t share many details about the XO-2’s hardware, but the new system has two touch-sensitive displays. As you can see from the video and the pictures, the XO-2 will be much smaller than the original machine (half the size, according to the press release) and will have a foldable e-book form factor. “The next generation laptop should be a book,” Negroponte said.” Continue Reading »

When collaborating with someone or a small group of people on a project, you have four main tools for communication: in-person, e-mail, the phone, and instant messaging. Each of these has their pros and cons. For in-person to work, the collaborators, naturally, have to live within the same area. But how often does that happen? Continue Reading »

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to the current Ambrosia Publishing business model. After being in business for a little over a year (from getting the idea to start Ambrosia till now, to be more specific),
I’ve made my fair share of mistakes which I’m taking into consideration when I sit down to go over the new business model ideas I have for the business. One thing I have done is made a new distinction in regards to what Ambrosia Publishing will be when I revamp it. Right now, Ambrosia Publishing is a graphic novel publisher which serializes graphic novels online before publication. This will change to Ambrosia Publishing being a web comic publisher. So I finally got around to catching IRON MAN last night. I went in with my expectations in check. Seems most everyone who’s seen it and blogged about it, raved how good it was and how it was up there with SPIDER-MAN 2 and the last BATMAN movie as one of the best superhero movies. Not that that is saying a lot considering there’s been far more crappy superhero movies than good ones. But anyway.

Despite the lackluster fight at the end, it wasn’t half bad. The movie obviously wouldn’t be nearly as good as it is if it wasn’t for not only Robert Downey Jr. but also Jeff Bridges. Those two took it from a mediocre action movie to one of the better movies of the year. Just too bad they didn’t have Bridges play a character based on the Mandarin villain. Now that would’ve been pretty interesting.
I just hope in the sequels to come, they bring in some of the old villains from the Iron Man series. But I kinda have a sneaking suspicion the bad guys will be more terrorist or technology-based which could be a mistake. Only time will tell.

Here’s an idea I had this morning: would people be interested in buying an eBook from, let’s say, Paul Pope on how he creates an issue of THB? Or from Warren Ellis on the creative process he and John Cassaday had in putting PLANETARY together? Just an idea.

So I finally got a notebook computer not too long ago. Noticed I didn’t include “new” in there? It’s a Dell Latitude LS which originally came out close to a decade ago. Someone local was selling it for $100 bucks. I’ve been wanting to get a basic, no thrills notebook just for working on the road / living room for a while now.
The only draw back was it came with no battery. But I did a search online before buying it and they are relatively cheap. So now I’m in the process of getting the mofo set up for work. I was hoping to connect it via a USB cable to my main computer here but I didn’t have a USB cable which had the same connectors on both ends. A trip to the local Staples didn’t help. So after some further googling, I found out I can use an ethernet cable to create a LAN between my hub and the two computers.
So that’s my adventure for today.

Time to give this another spin. Been super-busy between the last post and this one. But I plan on making the time to post here. With that said, I’m going to finish getting this baby setup and ready for action.
